Fiscal year grant dollars awarded in northern Nevada (Washoe County, Carson City, Douglas County, Virginia City, Fallon and Fernley) by the Nevada Arts Council (NAC) to support the efforts of nonprofit arts and community organizations, public institutions, and individual artists throughout Nevada.

Why is this important?

The arts are a vital asset that foster critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and enhance the economic, educational and social benefits from preserving our cultural heritage.  The Nevada Arts Council (NAC), a division of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural affairs, ensures rural and urban areas of the state receive the cultural, civic, economic, and educational benefits of the arts.  NAC grants sponsor activities such as exhibitions, concerts, film series, and festivals, as well as individual artists, dance, opera and theatre companies, symphonies, orchestras, choral groups, and local arts councils statewide.
